What is the CG method?
With the CG method you avoid certain ingredients in your hair care products. These ingredients include sulphates, silicones, drying alcohols, waxes and mineral oils. All CG Naturals products follow this method. By avoiding these ingredients, the hair remains healthy, which also makes the hair feel nicer and less frizzy.
Sulfates
Sulfates act as strong cleansers that not only remove unwanted dirt particles, but also strip the natural oils from your hair. This process can lead to drying of the hair.
Silicone
Silicones form a protective layer around the hair, giving it shine and protection. Nevertheless, silicone also has some negative aspects. They can weigh the hair down, making natural waves or curls less visible. Additionally, this layer blocks essential nutrients that nourish and hydrate hair strands. The environment also suffers from silicones, because they end up in surface water through the drain.
Drying alcohols
There are various types of alcohols. Some, derived from fats, are safe for the hair and comply with the CG method. But there are also alcohols that can damage and dry out the hair, and these are best avoided.
Waxes
Just like silicone, waxes coat your hair. This weighs down your hair and prevents care products from providing essential nutrition.
Mineral oils
Mineral oils, a byproduct of petroleum, create a barrier on the hair and scalp, preventing the skin from removing its waste products. This can lead to skin irritations. There are studies suggesting a link between mineral oils and cancer, but this has not yet been conclusively established.
In addition to the application of the CG method, CG Naturals also avoids parabens, ingredients of animal origin and microplastics in their products.
